Elevate your home or altar space with this very special handwoven runner. Made with a striking and bold design which has been derived from the classic Kundalini Mantra “Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad,”. This mantra is also known as the “Magic Mantra” and is one of the most revered and powerful mantras used in the Kundalini yoga tradition.
I am a devoted Kundalini practitoner and have had a beautiful relationship with this mantra for some time, leading me to feel inspired to create an encoded design infused with the intention and vibration of this mantra. A recording of this mantra was being played the entire time this weaving was being created.
This textile can be used as an altar cloth or decorative element for your meditation space or home. Can also be mounted as a wall hanging.
Dimensions: 7.5” x 24.5 inches. Made of cotton and silk yarn.
This piece is part of the series of handwoven textiles which feature an encoded design based on a song that I learned around a campfire many years ago:
“We are the Weavers
We are the Woven Ones
We are the Dreamers and
We are the Dream”.
The meaning behind this speaks to how we are all part of the larger fabric of life, and also active participants in it.
Featuring hand dyed cotton and linen yarns, bamboo, wooden beads, and a carnelian stone, this woven design is fascinating as it is powerful. A special and tactile addition to any space.
Mounted on a bamboo dowel and ready for hanging. Size 23” x 30”
"Madre Mar" (Mother Ocean) is inspired by my love affair with the ocean. And don't we all have a love affair with the sea? It is the origin of all life on Earth. All life comes from the Sea.
My weaving studio was temporarily located at Playa Nosara, Costa Rica during the creation of most of this piece. My home studio overlooks the sea as well, and so the Pacific Ocean was a daily touchstone of inspiration for this weaving.
This piece also evokes the ocean meeting the beach, and features shells from Playa Nosara, Costa Rica. Many different hand dyed yarns of silk, cotton, and linen, as well as small beads placed throughout the weaving, give this piece a rich textural quality. Secretly embedded in the weaving is an encoded design based on the words "Madre Mar". Hung from preserved driftwood from Playa Dominical, Costa Rica. Size: 18” x 42”.
This handwoven wall art is woven from linen yarn and features an inlaid encoded design on the mantra “Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo” along with a painted circular design. Mounted from a wooden dowel and ready to hang.
This mantra can be translated as "I bow to the Divine wisdom of All That Is. I bow to the Divine teacher within.” It is a reminder to center ourselves in our own Divine Wisdom.
